Safety Training

Clarklift offers a comprehensive lift truck operator training class designed for the new lift truck operator as well as for the veteran operator who has not had the benefit of a formal classroom presentation with written exam and graded obstacle course testing.

The course is designed to achieve the goals of improving operators' safety, improving operators' morale, improving operators' care of the equipment, and fulfilling employers' OSHA requirements for training of lift truck operators.

Clarklift expects the students to gain an understanding of:

  • How the lift trucks differ from other vehicles
  • How lift trucks are built and how they operate
  • Matching lift trucks to loads and operating conditions
  • What happens when a lift truck "lifts"

Clarklift expects the student to become familiar with:

  • Good practices for starting the day's work
  • Safe practices in driving, turning, climbing and descending, parking and stopping
  • Safe practices for picking up and depositing loads
  • Safe practices before entering trucks and railroad cars
  • Safe practices for the unexpected situation
  • Watching the truck's "health" during the day

Classes are conducted on Tuesdays beginning at 8:00am. Class size approximately 10.

Classes can also be conducted at your location to meet your needs.

The cost is $95.00 per student and includes classroom instruction, written exam, driving test, certificate of completion, license card, and pizza lunch.

This class is for lift truck operators, regardless of seniority, maintenance personnel, supervisors and plant safety and management personnel.

Telescopic Handlers

We conduct operator safety training for all brands and models of telescopic handlers.

While the basic principles of operation and stability are the same for these machines as for straight mast forklift trucks, the variable reach telescopic boom and surface conditions prevalent where these machines are used present special concerns for which operators must be trained.

Due to their size and stance, an untrained operator can easily make wrong assumptions and judgements. If you don't know what you don't know, catastrophic accidents can happen.

Always wear your seat belt, read the operator's manual thoroughly before operating, and call us for training!

We want you to go home safe and sound at the end of each work day and to never have to say, "You won't believe what happened at work today."

Scissors Lift Aerial Work Platforms

We conduct operator safety training for all brands and models of aerial work platforms.

Our trainer has been certified by:

JLG Industries through their Train-the-Trainer program

IPAF - International Powered Access Federation - PAL license expires 10/31/2011

Full body harness and tether is not required by OSHA or ANSI-SIA when operating a scissors lift AWP.
The railings around the platform are considered to be the fall protection for this class of machines which is considered to be a "mobile scaffold'. However, jobsite rules may include a requirement for the use of fall protection. Consult the operator's manual for the machine you operate for the manufacturer's instructions.

Telescopic Boom Aerial Work Platforms

We conduct operator safety training for all brands and models of boom supported aerial work platforms including straight boom and articulated boom machines.

Fall protection in fhe form of a full body harness and tether is required for all persons on the platform of a boom supported AWP due to the "bounce" factor that exists and the possibility of a person being ejected from the platform.
